Abstract   |   Authors   |   References
In the context of increasing global challenges that have a direct impact on the development of the economy and society, employment issues are becoming particularly relevant. This is confirmed by the emergence of a broad discussion about the future of labor sphere and, as a result, the formation of a large number of contradictory scenario models that somehow declare the formation of a new image of labor relations. Despite the institutional differences between countries, transformational shifts in the practices of public participation in paid socially useful activities have been observed everywhere over the previous decades. Under the influence of many factors that caused changes in the supply and demand for labor, the standard employment model, traditional for industrial economies of the 20th century, began fading into the background giving way to flexible forms of labor relations. Due to the lack of research devoted to the peculiarities of the development of this process in the Russia’s entities, the purpose of this article is to determine the dynamics and extent of spreading certain forms of non-standard employment at the regional level. They included: underemployment, overemployment, employment in the informal sector, secondary, employment in a personal subsidiary farm and self-employment. The analysis shows that the spread of non-standard employment occurs unevenly both in the entities of Russia and in the context of its specific forms. The most widespread is employment in the informal sector the scale of which is about 20%. Among the other forms of labor relations, only part-time and overemployment, as well as self-employment, are distinguished. It is worth emphasizing that non-standard employment primarily affects the least prosperous of the country’s entities from the point of view of economic development (except overemployment). The main limitation of the study is related to the use of exclusively official statistics data which significantly narrows the range of considered employment aspects, but allows getting closer to understanding the scale and territorial differences in the dynamics of the phenomenon
